Phoenix Island

Finally finished reading Phoenix Island and creating the RC counts quiz for it! Talk about non-stop action/adventure thriller... Carl has a good heart, but a rough life. Now an orphan and in trouble with the law, he is banished to a juvenile boot camp for orphans on an island of the coast of... well, no one was really specific about that. It doesn't take Carl too long to figure out Phenix Island is not your regular boot camp type program. The drill sergeants take "mean" to a new level. Kids disappear. A mad doctor runs the "Chop Shop." Of course, it's complete with a megalomaniac. Soon, Carl just is just trying to survive the day, but that's difficult when you are "an individual" with a strong sense of responsibility to protect the weak and wounded. Carl has two things going for him: he's smart and he's a former boxing champion. Will that be enough for him to survive? What about Ross and Octavia? Can he save them too? Read it and find out...

Your library now has 119 more audio and ebooks available! Just go to the BHS website and look under "School Info" for Media Center. OR just follow this link...

Look for "Ebooks" under the Electronic Resource list on the right. Your username is the same on that you use to log on to the computers at school, and your password is the name of the yearbook. If you want to use the audiobooks or ebooks on your phone, you will need to download the BryteWave k-12 app from Follett. It's free. Come see me if you have any questions!

Digital COMICS are here!

Bearcats - Your library staff is very excited to announce the arrival of COMICS PLUS! Comic Plus will give you online access to thousands of comics and graphic novels. Go to the BHS website. Under School Info at the top, look for Media Center. Once on the Media Center website look on the right side for Electronic Resources. At the bottom, you will see the link to Comics Plus. Click on the link. You will need to create an account the first time you use it. See the library staff to get the access keyword. It's a good idea to use a real email instead of your school email so if you forget your password, you can request a reset. Once you have created an account, you are ready to explore thousands of comics. You can search by category, publisher, or title. Around December 15th, they will adding DC and IDK comics! They also have an app in the works. Enjoy!
